A quick boring bit:- The Moon makes a complete cycle of the 12 signs of the zodiac every 27 days 7 hours and 43 minutes, with this in mind the influence of the sign it occupies gives an emotional tone which can be favorable or unfavorable in your life depending on your particular sign. Skeptics have often remarked that it’s unadulterated rubbish;-A simple answer is to explain it in ways that they might understand through a little bit of science or as it's normal name - common sense. Amazing to think that the people believe the moon wouldn’t affect us, it’s funny but many years ago Doctors were trained in Astrology and back then recognized the effects of the moon in it’s different phases through the 28 day cycle when operating on a part of the body ruled by it’s zodiac sign. This is well documented if anyone wants to research it and you will find it still stands to this day as being correct.
So back to how the Moon’s influence shows in our day to day lives, bear in mind everyone has their own cycle (moods) which is how biorhythms are established for the individual. This is a general explanation so you can work out how each 2 and a bit days influence you personally, mark it on your moon calendar and begin to see the patterns and moods for yourself.
Meanings of the Moon through the different phases and when used with the signs it gives extra influence;-
New Moon until the first quarter - waxing
Anything that is Regenerative for the body, any special effort made will have good results. Great time to start new activities and begin new projects especially things that are ruled by the sign it occupies.
First quarter until the Full Moon - waxing
Concentrate on things that encourage development and growth, energy is usually stored for the body at this time.
Full Moon until the third quarter - waning
Very good time to detoxify the body. A time to bring plans to fruition,
Fourth quarter until New moon - waning.
Good results when clearing or cleaning your environment. Body recovers quickly during this time as it gets ready for the next phase. A time of intensity and high feelings this is a good time to go public, time to shine.
Void-of-Course.
Activities begun during this phase rarely come to anything or they will turn out very differently than planned.
Moon cycle through the signs
Time to get moving the moon in this sign needs start new things; you may notice that everyone seems pushy, impatient and eager to go. Leave details and follow up later any competitive sports or martial arts is a good way to channel this energy constructively, don’t step on too many people’s toes.
Moon in Taurus
This moon is helpful to do solid, methodical work or follow things up that the Aries moon started. A good day to lay foundations for success, make Investments, buy property or do some hard bargaining. Intuition will be high and some shrewd thinking concerning what people really need. Pay attention to instincts and gut reactions.

This is a confident and generous moon cycle, a good day to ask for a promotion or pay rise. Dress well and people will sit up and take notice, be careful of being over extravagant it all well and good treating yourself like a star but you don’t have to go bankrupt in the process! Go to the theatre or a show anywhere that you can be seen. Don’t promise more than you can deliver.
Moon in Virgo
Time to get practical, sort your budget out, sort out repairs and have a health check. Now is the time to get health conscious and get your priorities in order. Good time to go over details as your critical acumen will be very sharp. Others may also feel to be in a critical or fault finding mood.
Moon in Libra
Attend to any legal matters, negotiations and contracts, this is a good time to mediate difficult situations. Make a special effort with your partner by doing something romantic. Buy yourself something beautiful, this is an excellent time to have a party and socialize. Avoid any type of confrontation, this moon is able to soothe ruffled feathers and make things civilized, so put it to good use.
Moon in Scorpio
Well here’s a day to do things with passion, excellent for concentration and focus just beware of becoming too emotionally intense as it would be very easy to get into heated and very sharp exchanges with people today including loved ones. Use this intense energy for trouble shooting, resolving problems or research. Watch for other people as well as yourself getting jealous and going to extremes. Good day for picking up information. Moon in Sagittarius
A good time to travel or get involved with philosophical discussions also planning long term goals. An upbeat exuberant feeling that gives a spirit of adventure, you’ll find that risk gambling appeals ie; betting on horses, casino or doing the lottery. Teaching, writing or spiritual activities will go very well today, a good time to get outdoors or involved with animals.

A day to accomplish so get moving, attend to anything that involves responsibilities, duties, family as this will be the theme during this phase. You will be held to your promises at this time, another way of utilizing this moon is to get rid of dead wood in your life and dental check-up’s.
Moon in Aquarius
Great day for getting involved with groups, clubs, meetings, politics or parties. Campaign for your personal cause, issues that deal with humanity are highlighted. Buying electrical equipment or gadgets will appeal today, you may even want to dress or look totally different to everyone else, and just for the sake of it hold a different point of view that shocks people and gets discussions going.
Moon in Pisces
Lovely creative energy, which will stimulate your imagination, a good day for movies, theatre, painting or reading. A good time to spend some alone time reflecting or meditating, but be warned that any form of negative escapism like drinking etc will have an adverse effect. A lovely daydreaming phase especially for romance, or maybe even helping someone who is having a hard time.

During any 24 hour period the body goes through it’s own cycle with specific organs working at their peak efficiency followed by a period of recovery and repair. This table was given to me some years ago by a healer who was also an astrologer called Evie, sadly she passed away nine years ago but I have kept it and used it for healing purposes and to help others become aware of their daily rhythms. This table is believed to have come from the “old, secret knowledge”, whether this is gypsy based or Wicca I’m not too sure but it stands up well for working with different organs for detoxifying or strengthening when using the times given.

Full Moon Cancer: January 9th 2012All people have their own ideas, their own likes and dislikes, their own wishes and hopes, their own beliefs or passions or fears or skepticisms and, somehow, they manage to co-exist with many others with different - well -feelings. Capricorn Moons find this an impossible conundrum. For one, they do not understand that the experiences they contain within themselves constitute 'feelings' and for the most part (or 'two') they utterly fail to comprehend that the insides (or the minds, or the hearts, or the experiences) of other people may differ from their own.
Life tries to teach them that this is so, but they will not have it. It lends them a perpetual air of puzzlement. It also, if you want to have fun at their expense and have nerves of steel, makes them particularly credulous when faced with tales of the unexpected, or unnatural, or - god forbid - spectral. A great trick to capture their attention at a party is a true or purportedly true ghost story. If you feel you want to capture their attention.
Capricorn Moons put their own lack of understanding down to the cunning ability of others to twist language and expression into ethereal forms that they cannot be expected to comprehend - being plain-speakers themselves. Well, no-speakers actually. Everything expressed by others seems to contain secrets beyond their ken. This makes them, of course, deeply suspicious and wary and constantly on the alert for being made a fool of. This does not mean that Capricorn Moons do not have their own secrets. They do. Far too many of them. Which is, of course, the point.This month, the moon rises in a square with impulsive Uranus in Aries and a trine with retrograde Jupiter in Taurus. This does not bode particularly well. Things are not going as they should. Events are beginning to look a little out of control and if there is one thing this moon cannot allow, it is things going out of control. They fear control figures - and often the mother, who had after all, an unnatural power over them and never quite exercised it properly. The moon is also very close to a conjunction with Pluto. A simple case of earth-moving and emotional devastation. Of all the moons, Capricorn is most aware of the oncoming storm, because it constantly expects it and, alas, has its fortified rock ready and armed.
Like Taurus and Virgo moons, Capricorn is most fearful when events threaten not only to become insecure, but to threaten their security. Since they guard with doors of steel, secret encryptions and a paralyzing muteness that would astonish a marble statue, any details of what actually constitutes their security, it is impossible to know exactly what constitutes a threat to it. A threat may be being made to learn a musical instrument when, in fact, they are deeply moved by music and want to keep the feeling a secret. For obvious reasons, these moons find it extremely difficult to make secure alliances - they are oft-divorced - and this month alliances are thin on the ground. This may mean throwing themselves and events back onto a past system which appeared to have at least worked once. It won’t now, but that is not the point. If chaos is come again, get your gun and uniform - they have a great belief in uniforms - and walk over the obstacle. ............To be continued
